36721302_sWe at CinLee Cleaning Services love our clients! We love that they trust us to do their weekly or bi-monthly cleanings with precision and care. But we also get that we can’t be there for the moments “in between” our cleanings…for the spilled coffee or the light bulbs that need changing. However, we do have a few “cheats” that can help get you out sticky situations!

  1. The next time a glass cup crashes to the floor, don’t fret over the little pieces. Instead, sponge up the shards with a slice of bread. Even tiny slivers will cling to it!
  2. Living in Indiana, we all struggle with the hard water, even if you have a water softener tank installed. Pesky water stains looks awful on the sink whether it’s at home or the kitchenette at work. Slice a lemon in half and rub over the faucet fixtures and then rinse and wipe for a spotless sparkle. Also! Use the peel from the lemon to remove coffee or tea stains from a mug. When your finished throw the entire lemon down the disposal to keep it smelling fresh. Triple-win!
  3. Remove a hot bulb that’s just burned out by using half of a tennis ball. This will save your fingers from burning and the bulb from bursting.
  4. Binder clips aren’t just useful for binding all your paper documents together. To prevent a smelly, waterlogged sponge, air-dry it in a binder clip away from the sink.
  5. For lint-free viewing of your favorite television shows or to present your PowerPoint clearly, grab a coffee filter to wipe down dusty and static-heavy computer monitors and TV screens regularly.
  6. Spilled coffee happens. Use hydrogen peroxide and a damp cloth to get it out of carpet.
  7. Keep your computer keyboard germ-free. Power off your computer and disconnect the keyboard first, and then slide a 2½-inch strip of tape between the rows of your keyboard. The adhesive side will remove dust and crumbs. You can then trace between the keys with a cotton swab lightly dipped in isopropyl alcohol. If your mouse is the kind that rolls on a ball, unscrew the bottom and go over the ball and the interior with a cotton swab as well to keep it rolling smoothly.
  8. Did someone miss the trashcan when throwing out his or her gum? Remove gum from carpet by sitting a plastic bag of ice on top of the gum for roughly 30 minutes or until gum is very hard. Then pick the gum up using your fingers or a spatula. If any stickiness remains you can dab the area with a little lemon juice.
